Protocol for Receiving Communion

With four blocks of seating in the Church and to avoid congestion in the aisles, we serve two non-adjacent blocks first and then the other two.  Persons approach and return by a one-way system.  Each group will approach by the nearest ‘pillar aisle’ and return to their seats by the other side. Please remember that Communion is received in the hand only.

Two groups – those by the windows and left of centre aisle – will move clockwise as you come forward by the pillars, row by row, turn right to receive and continue right back to your seats.

The other two groups – right of centre aisle and by the pictures – will move anti-clockwise as you come forward by the pillars, row by row, turn left to receive and continue left back to your seats.

With greater numbers expected at Christmas Masses, we hope to have Ushers who will assist you with directions.  Please remain seated until it is your turn to come forward.  Take your time and keep some distance from the person in front.
